Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Physical Education, Sport, and Human Performance (JPESHP) is committed to maintaining originality, academic integrity, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material are not permitted.

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using recognized similarity-detection software such as iThenticate, Turnitin, Crossref Similarity Check, or other appropriate tools. Similarity reports are used as supporting evidence and are not evaluated solely on the basis of the overall similarity percentage.

As an editorial guideline, manuscripts are expected to have an overall similarity score of no more than 20%. However, the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor will assess the nature, source, location, and extent of the similarity before making a decision.

Plagiarism includes:

  • copying text, ideas, data, figures, or tables without proper citation;
  • inappropriate paraphrasing without acknowledgment;
  • excessive reuse of the author's previously published work;
  • duplicate or redundant publication; and
  • translated plagiarism or unattributed use of material from another language.

If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript may be returned for revision or rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, JPESHP may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the seriousness of the case.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts and for properly citing all sources. The use of artificial intelligence does not remove this responsibility, and AI tools must not be used to conceal plagiarism, fabricate references, or misrepresent existing work as original.

JPESHP handles suspected plagiarism in accordance with recognized principles of publication ethics, including relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

By submitting a manuscript to JPESHP, authors confirm that the manuscript is original and complies with this Plagiarism Policy.
